Deadline anchor

Deadline tiedowns The deadline is the nonmoving end of the wire rope from the hoisting down through the crown and traveling blocks. This end is anchored at ground level with a tiedown. [Pg.530]

Problems often arise with regard to the required details for the anchorage of vessels and apparatuses. Larger outdoor vessels, for example, are exposed to considerable wind loads and have therefore to be anchored adequately. Details for anchorage have to be coordinated with the constmction firm and the subcontractor of the vessel. The construction firm, however, would like to work out a plan at a point of time when the vessel subcontractor has not yet been determined. In such cases it is advisable to put the constmction design quasi on hold. The constmction firm, however, will certainly insist on the fixing of the deadline by which the details have to be stipulated. If this deadline, usually recorded in protocols, is exceeded the construction firm will establish a claim against the plant manufacturer. [Pg.152]
