Analysis of single compounds on the bead

Compared to solution-phase organic synthesis, solid-phase reactions can not be followed by TLC or HPLC and are therefore more difficult to monitor. Product analysis can be achieved by cleavage from the solid support followed by traditional characterisation. Nevertheless, a large variety of analytical methods are available for product analysis on the bead. 

FT-IR is a very convenient method for the evaluation of resin-bound intermediates and can give information on the completeness of reactions.3-i69.400.563,564 Resin-bound substrates are also suitable for KBr pellet IR analysis and for photoacoustic IR.365
