This review articie provides an introduction to foided and extended conformationai motifs of synthetic peptidomimetics as tempiates for chemicai bioiogy appiications. Severai variants of these 3-dimensionai structures have been assessed, which comprise versatiie scaffoids for presentation of side-chain and main-chain peptide groups for moiecuiar recognition. Specificaiiy, reievant parameters and stereochemicai consequences are discussed for heiices of peptidomimetics based on 1) a-amino acids alkylated (e.g., methylated or ethylated) at the C"-atom 2) a,P-didehydroamino acids, in particular a,P-didehydrophenylalanine, with a carbon-carbon double bond between the a- and fS-positions 3)...

It is not the intention to provide a thorough coverage of the subject that would not be possible in a single volume of this size. Rather, it is hoped that this book will serve as an introduction to structural adhesives and structural adhesive bonding and that it will be a useful source reference to the subject. 

Lewis, as a physicist, was also well aware of early developments we ve come to call Quantum Theory, but his most outspoken concerns for what impact this might have on chemistry from 1916 and 1923 preceded the mathematical developments of both Schrodinger and Heisenberg. It is of interest to note, however, that Linus Pauling who authored the first major text for the new quantum chemistry. The Nature of the Chemical Bond, dedicated this work to G. N. Lewis.
