An experimental compound boundary representation

COMPOUND B REP RESULT ( name list ) COMPOUND B REP ( name, OPEN )  [Pg.111]

The COMPOUND B REP is included in this specification as an experimental entity. Most CAD systems are presently unable to deal with such kind of models. The entity has been included in order to demonstrate that the present neutral file proposal is capable of handling models that are yet to be implemented in future CAD systems. [Pg.111]

The COMPOUND B REP is a generalization of the B REP solids model and has been introduced to cope with the needs of applications (such as finite element analysis) in which adjacent regions inside a solids model have different properties (material, e.g.) associated. The B REP model allows voids only but does not provide for faces being shared by adjacent shells. [Pg.111]

The COMPOUND B REP is a self-contained entity in the sense that no entity in the COMPOUND B REP may refer to an entity outside the scope of the COMPOUND B REP. All referenced entities must be within the COMPOUND B REP scope itself. [Pg.111]
