Aminotransferases and Amino Acid Decarboxylases

Amino acid decarboxylases transform amino acids to the corresponding amines. Aminotransferases catalyze a binary mechanism illustrated by the following equations  

Keto acid (aldehyde ) - - Pyridoxamine-5 -phosphate-enzyme 

Amino acidg (amineg) - - Pyridoxal-5 -phosphate-enzyme
