Amino acid experimental evidence

Besides all the sensory and texturizing properties, GA has interesting antioxidant properties such as an efficient capacity for deactivation of excited electronic states and moderated radical scavenging capacity. There is increasing experimental evidence that associate the antioxidant function with its protein fraction, mainly by amino acid residues such as histidine, tyrosine and lysine, which are generally considered as antioxidants molecules (Marcuse, 1960,1962 Park et al., 2005). 

The amino acid, activated by uptake of SO3, reacts with a second molecule of amino acid to form the dipeptide, which can in turn react further to form a tripeptide (and so on). This peptide synthesis model, which is supported by experimental evidence, appeals because of its simplicity it may well correspond much more closely to conditions on the primeval Earth than do some other models (Chen and Yang, 2007). 

The nucleophilic carbon centres of lithium enolates may also be pyrami-dalized, though there is little experimental evidence of this (Seebach et al., 1985, 1991). Silyl enol ethers are generally planar, but two (67 R = Ph and OMe] derived from an imidazolidinone used in amino acid synthesis show... 

More recently, several studies in both the United States and the UK have shown that patients undergoing treatment with an SSRI will rapidly relapse when given an amino acid-containing drink that is deficient in tryptophan. The onset of the symptoms of depression is rapid (less than 24 hours) there is clinical and experimental evidence that the reduction in brain serotonin... 

Animal studies indicate that the primary toxic effect of uranium exposure is on the kidney, with particular damage to the proximal tubules. Functionally, this may result in increased excretion of glucose and amino acids. Structurally the necrosis of tubular epithelium leads to formation of cellular casts in the urine. If exposure is insufficient to cause death from renal failure, the mbular lesion is reversible with epithelial regeneration. Although bone is the other major site of deposition, there is no evidence of toxic or radiocarcinogenic effects to bone or bone marrow from experimental studies. ... 

Aromatic amino acids interface with a diverse and vast network of connecting secondary metabolism in the cytosol, but not in other major compartments such as the chloroplast. A strong rationale and emerging lines of experimental evidence support the probable existence of an intact cytosolic pathway of aromatic amino acid biosynthesis which links carbohydrate metabolism (via PEP and erythrose-4-P, or possibly glyceraldehyde-3-P) and secondary metabolism. 

Cytosine as well as the other heterocyclic nucleic acid bases are quasiaromatic compounds, expected to be planar. The experimental evidence shows that this is not strictly so, but the deviations of the ring atoms of cytosine from planarity are, in general, small, and in most cases within the limits of the experimental accuracy. Oxygen and amino groups, and the atoms of substituents, when present, appear to deviate more from planarity. In all the quantum-mechanical studies the cytosine ring has been assumed to be planar.
