2-Methylbenzimidazole (L) forms the complexes NiL2X2 (X = Cl, Br, or I) which are all pseudo-tetrahedral. 2-Benzylbenzimidazole (Dibaz) forms the complexes [Ni(Dibaz)2X2]. When. X = SCN, the complex is dimeric with bridging SCN when X = Cl or Br, octahedral or pseudo-octahedral structures are adopted when X = I, the complex is square-planar. The ligands 2-(2 -pyridyl)benzimidazole (L ) and 2-(2 -pyridyl)imidazoline (L ) form the complexes Ni(L )3X2 and Ni(L )2-X2 (X = Cl, Br, I, or NCS). All the complexes are high-spin.  [Pg.286]
