Tlie presence of bufotenine in Amanita citrina and A. porphyria has again been noted (28) in contrast, the earlier report that bufotenine occurs in A. muscaria (Fr.) S. F. Gray could not be confirmed (28). Samples of A. muscaria collected in eleven locations in central and eastern Germany gave consistently negative results in the search for bufotenine and it is now suggested that the samples investigated earlier by Wielaiid et al.
