Allene R. Jeanes

Recent volumes of Carbohydrate Research have been issued in honour of various persons with international reputations in carbohydrate chemistry and their achievements, viz. Professor Dexter French and his work on starch and glycogen, Dr. Allene R. Jeanes and her work on microbial polysaccharides particularly dextrin and xanthan, and Dr. Elizabeth E. Percival and her work on various algal polysaccharides.
