Figure 3 shows a correlation between the values of e, fwhm and a of various poly(dialkylsilane)s and poly(alkylarylsilane)s in THF at 30 °C [41]. The polymers include seven optically active helical poly(dialkylsilane)s with four different types of chiral f-, y-, or 5-branched alkyl substituents, 11 optically inactive poly(dialkylsilane)s with six different types of achiral / -, y-, or 5-branched substituents, an optically inactive helical poly(dialkylsilane) with racemic chiral side groups, and two optically inactive helical poly(alkyl-phenylsilane)s.
