2-Alkyl-l-alkenes

In spite of the low enantioselectivity observed for simple 2-alkyl-l-alkenes, other terminal disubstituted olefins, e.g.. 5-benzyloxyethyl-l-/< r/-butyldimethylsilyloxy-l-cyclohexyl-3,7-di-methyl-4-tricthylsilyloxy-7-octen-2-one, react with higher selectivity60,95. 

For the same reason 1-alkenes, unlike ethylene, react with trialkyl alanes to form practically exclusively the 2-alkyl-l-alkenes. Thus aluminum 2-methyl-l-pentyl, formed from tripropylalane and propene,...
