4 Alkenylation and Arylation of Tin-bound Groups (Stille Reaction) 

In this chapter, we have already seen that C,C couplings may involve organocopper, -magnesium, -boron and -zinc compounds. But the number of suitable organometallic compounds is not exhausted. A commonly used metal for coupling purposes is tin and organotin compounds are extensively used in Stille coupling reactions. 

16 Transition Metal-Mediated Alkenylations, Arylations, and Alkynylations 

All the C,C couplings that have so far been introduced in Section 16.4 share the following features  

A Pd(0) complex inserts into a Csp2 or sp bond of the leaving group of an arylating or alke-nylating agent and thereby produces a Pd(II) complex.
