ALGOL language

As a practical point, any computer code has to be transferable between platforms, so there is little point writing code in esoteric but obsolete languages such as French ALGOL. [Pg.151]

Other familiar languages may be C, ADA, LISP, ALGOL, PL/I, Prolog, and APL which are now available on many microcomputer systems. [Pg.110]

ALGOL-60, an international algorithmic language, was developed with logical completeness by Wirth62 and Backus, but did not "catch on," except among minor non-IBM computer manufacturers, and ultimately disappeared. [Pg.556]

PL-I, or programming language One, was meant by IBM to be a superset of both FORTRAN and ALGOL, but it was resisted in the marketplace and disappeared. [Pg.556]

Naur, P., Revised report on the algorithmic language ALGOL 60. Commun. ACM 6, I (1963). [Pg.90]

The fraction of sample decomposed (a) from DTA curves was calculated by an algorithm made in ALGOL 60 language for a NCR Elliot Model 4130 computer by Skvara and Satava (28). This alogarithm calculated a and log c/(a) and plotted the latter as a function of temperature. Comparison of the computed DTA data with the experimental values for several dissociation reactions indicated a good agreement and applicability of the method. [Pg.779]
