Albocycline

In a second example albocycline is transformed by a Strepiomyces strain131. [Pg.1092]

The microorganism is grown for 48 h in nutrient medium at 28 C and stirred (250 rpm). 5 % of this culture is used as inoculum for the fermentation. 1 g of albocycline dissolved in 100 mL of F.tOH is added to 10 L of the reaction mixture which is then incubated for 72 h. The fermentation broth is extracted twice with two 5-L portions of Skellysolve B. Evaporation yielded 1.26 g of a yellow oil. Pure product is isolated by column chromaiography (silica gel, EtOAc/ cyclohexane 1 1, v/v). [Pg.1092]
