Aggregate grading and binder content

The aggregate grading determination of the RA and the binder content determination in the RA are conducted in the usual manner similar to hot or cold mix asphalt (see Sections 2.11.1 and 9.6, respectively). 

This facilitates the determination of the mass of each portion of new aggregates and the mass of new bitumen to be added for the production of the recycled mix.

The properties are consistent with those suggested by the Asphalt Institute [48] for light, medium and heavy traffic categories, except in the area of air void content, which can be adjusted through changes in aggregate grading and binder content. At S/A... 

Tolerance limits for the aggregate grading and binder content of the produced AC in relation to the target mix for quality assurance are established by the agency, together with the procedure for verifying tests.
