African yam bean

Sphenostylis stenocarpa (family Leguminosae Papilionoideae) Commonly known as African yam bean. It is widely distributed through tropical Africa. Plants are cultivated for both seeds and tubers but the tuber is the valuable part, resembling sweet potatoes and tasting like Irish potato. [Pg.142]
