Affinity distributed to elementary steps

We consider a simple reaction composed of two elementaiy steps in series with the affinity distribution ratio m - AgilAg and the stoichiometric niunbers vj and vj. The mean stoichiometric number v is then given by Eqn. 7-52  [Pg.230]

In the regime of linear kinetics near equilibrium, Eqn. 7-53 reduces to the approximate equation in Eqn. 7.54  [Pg.230]

For a two-step reaction illustrated in Fig. 7-10, the overall reaction rate is obtained from Eqn. 7-41 as given by Eqn. 7-56  [Pg.232]

As the reaction affinity increases in the forward direction, the forward rates I l and vl of the two steps increase, while the backward rates oj and vi decrease, giving rise to an increase of co 1 and a decrease of ( vl vl)/(Uj vl) 1. Then, for the range of affinity in which the forward affinity is high, Eqn. 7-56 yields Eqn. 7-57  [Pg.232]
