Linear dependence of the limiting current on concentration as illustrated in Figure 3.6A is observed for diffusion currents, for the majority of kinetic currents, and for some catalytic currents (e.g., those involving regeneration of a reducible metal ion). Limiting dependences (Fig. 3.6, curves B, C) are observed for adsorption currents and for some catalytic currents. 

Problems can arise from irreversible waves, complexing, catalytic currents, adsorption currents and kinetic currents.
