The spectra reported here were obtained by subtracting from the spectra at various potentials, the reference spectrum at O.OV NHE the spectra reported here are thus termed difference spectra. The difference spectrum of surface adsorbed species on platinum in acetonitrile at -1.2V NHE is shown in Fig. 9. The peaks pointing downward show a decrease in surface concentration with respect to the reference potential, O.OV NHE, and the peaks pointing upwards indicate an increase in surface concentration. Three peaks pointing downwards and one peak pointing upwards in the region 2400-1500 cm are seen in Fig. 9. [Pg.186]
