Adopt a Flexible Format for Identifying Tables, Figures, and Sources

As a document evolves, particularly in an interdisciplinary environment, writers and readers will suggest numerous changes and many of them will be implemented. The writers will expand and delete text modify, expand, or delete tables and figures introduce new chapters and cite additional reports, papers, books, and other sources. 

Explicitly mention all tables, figures, appendices, and attachments at least once in the text with some explanation of their significance. These supporting items should appear immediately after or close to where they are first mentioned. Exceptions to this
