Adiabatic reactors reaction calorimeters

The initiator, and in many experiments a stopping (killing) reagent, was [Pg.110]

Thermal data where reactions are detected at lower temperatures are obtained from test runs on an ARC or other more sensitive calorimeters. In the ARC, the temperature is raised stepwise and at a much slower effective rate than with the DSC. The ARC is nearly adiabatic and, thus, more nearly approaches plant reactor conditions. Another important advantage is the fact that the reaction pressure is monitored and recorded in the ARC. [Pg.232]

P9-10(- The ARSST adiabatic bomb calorimeter reactor can also be used to determine the reaction orders. The hydrolysis of acetic anhydride to form acetic acid was carried out adiabatic ally... [Pg.638]

The calorimeter is able to work in four different operating modes adiabatic, where the jacket temperature (Tj) is adjusted such that there is no heat transfer through the reactor wall isoperiholic, where the jacket temperature is kept constant and the reaction temperature (TJ follows the reaction profile isothermal, where the desired reaction temperature is set to a constant value and Tj is changed automatically to maintain % at the specified value and distillation/rejlux mode or crystallization, where the respective (Tj-TJ or (Tr-Tj) is maintained constant... [Pg.46]
