Adaptation of TLC to Larger Applied Amounts

Many teams use rather thicker layers to separate milligram amounts. Usually 10 to 50 mg substance are applied as a band. Separations of amounts up to 2 g on 20 x 20 cm plates have only occasionally been reported.
