Acute toxicology studies

Acute toxicology studies in rodent and nonrodent These studies are used to identify doses causing no adverse effects and doses causing significant life-threatening effects. In addition to toxicity these studies frequently include toxicokinetics to identify the disposition of the test article in the rodent and nonrodent. These studies also provide additional support for the dose levels to be used in longer term studies. 

In acute toxicology studies in animals and humans, no irritant or other adverse reactions have been observed for example, when they were patch-tested on more than 100 individuals, no irritation was produced on either healthy or eczematous skin. Medium-chain triglycerides are not irritating to the eyes. 

Toxicology. The mammalian toxicity of the alkyl aryl oxime ethers was unknown. Compound 15, which had good foliar and soil insecticidal activity, was chosen for an acute toxicological study.

Results from acute and sub-acute toxicological studies indicate that fluazifop-butyl and its first metabolite (fluazifpp-acid) are of low order of toxicity.
