Actual Design of the Novel Reactor

Hexagonal Reactor with 10 cm sides. The central quartz tube is kept as provision for simultaneous irradiation with UV light [Pg.253]

3 Comparison of the Efficacy of the Hexagonal Flow-cell Reactor with Conventional Designs [Pg.254]

A calorimetric method has been used to determine the energy efficiency of the equipments under study. In this method, the rise in temperature of a fixed quantity of water in an insulated container for a given time was measured. Using this information, the actual energy (power) dissipated into a liquid was calculated from the following equation. [Pg.254]

Energy efficiency = Power dissipated in the liquid/Electric power supplied to the system [Pg.254]

The energy efficiency gives an indication of the quantity of energy effectively dissipated in the system, a fraction of which is utilized for the generation of cavities and should be as high as possible for the particular equipment. [Pg.254]
