Acetal Copolymers—Celanese Plastics

CELCON is a registered trademark of the Celanese Corporation used for its crystalline acetal copolymer based on trioxane. CELCON acetal copolymer can be injection molded, blow molded, extruded, rotationally cast and easily machined. CELCON acetal copolymer offers high mechanical strength, stiffness, toughness, and practical impact strength through broad ranges of temperature and environment. [Pg.3]

U10-11 1.0 Excellent processability in extrusion blow molding, injection blow molding and extrusion. High melt strength. Low odor grade for aerosols. Aerosols, containers, industrial articles, rod, tube, slab, profiles. [Pg.3]

M25-01 2.5 Excellent processability in extrusion. Not lubricated. Rod, tube, sheet, slab, wire coating. [Pg.3]

M90-04 9.0 Excellent moldability due to high flow characteristics and stability in processing High surface gloss and good dimensional stability. Internally lubricated. General injection molding. [Pg.3]

M90-08 9.0 Ultraviolet stabilized. Good maintenance of physical properties and resistance to chalking in outdoor exposures. Injection molded seasonal outdoor applications. [Pg.3]

The most notable development in small appliances has been that of the electric kettle. Nearly all new kettle bodies, lids, and spouts are molded from plastics such as Kematal acetal copolymer of Celanese Corporation. Kematal is chosen for its strength, resilience to impact, smooth surface finish, and wide colorability. Use of the material has also enabled a slimmer design of kettle, suited to the needs of the consumer. [Pg.787]

When Celanese made its first product offerings to the plastics marketplace in 1962, it was with linear acetal copolymers, one having a 9.0 melt index (MI) for injection molding and the other having a 2.5 melt index for extrusion... [Pg.118]
