Accuracy in mass spectrometry

The mass accuracy indicates the deviation of the instrument s response between the theoretical mass and the measured mass. It is usually expressed in parts per million (ppm) or in 10 3 u for a given mass. The limit of accuracy in mass spectrometry is about 1 ppm. The measurement of the atomic masses has reached an accuracy of better than 10 9u [79],...
