ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF -OH GROUP

According to the number of OH groups, a subdivision is made into 6 alcohol types 1-valent (= alcohols), 2-valent (= glycols), 3-valent (= glycerins), 4-valent (= erythritols), 5-valent (= pen-titols), and 6-valent (= hexitols). [Pg.59]
