Accompanying gas

A wide variety of special-purpose incinerators (qv) with accompanying gas scmbbers and soHd particle collectors have been developed and installed in various demilitarisation faciUties. These include flashing furnaces that remove all vestiges of explosive from metal parts to assure safety in handling deactivation furnaces, to render safe small arms and nonlethal chemical munitions fluidized-bed incinerators that bum slurries of ground up propellants or explosives in oil and rotary kilns to destroy explosive and contaminated waste and bulk explosive. [Pg.8]

The first tetramine we will discuss is the acyclic AfW -bis-(2-aminoethyl)propane-1,3-diamine (36) with an accompanying gas-phase enthalpy of formation58 of 0.0 3.3 kJmol-1. In the absence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding and any vie- and more distant diamine effects, this value could be estimated by summing the enthalpy of formation of w-undecane, 2- 4 and 2-85. The calculated value is —17 kJmol-1. Because the calculated enthalpy of formation is more negative than the experimentally measured... [Pg.355]

The third contribution is particularly devoted to the concept of so-called single source precursors (SSPs). SSPs contain all the atoms of the different elements necessary for the deposition of the desired material in one single molecule. One motivation for using this concept is to simplify the accompanying gas-phase reactions and thus reduce the process parameters to be controlled and optimised. However, SSPs may offer a unique chance of depositing metastable materials that cannot be derived by other methods. M. Veith and S. Mathur provide such an example in their paper entitled Single-Source-Precursor CVD Alkoxy and Siloxy Aluminum Hydrides . [Pg.223]

Brazeau River Nisku field, but exhibit a mean reservoir pressure of 33.9 MPa (4912 psi), and a normal pressure gradient (10.62 MPa/km), believed to be incapable of resulting in the observed Cardium values by vertical migration of Devonian oil. The sample mean SF(C3- C5) in Nisku gas-condensate reservoirs is 2.16. The value of SF(C3-nC5) in the Brazeau River Cardium oil allows that a substantial volume of Nisku gas-condensate is admixed. Instances of elevation of reservoir pressure accompanying gas migration were described by Mumme Ferrell (1979). [Pg.14]

MPa (6500 psi) and 121 °C, the added gas comprising 67.3 volume percent of the system in each instance. Each addition was followed by a phase separation step at 27.6 MPa and 121 °C. Figures 15 and 16 depict, respectively, developmental stages of the six progressively depleted oils and their accompanying gas-condensates. [Pg.23]

It should be possible with the help of the same experiment to find out the time after which the secondary processes become perceptible and their character. The latter means, the degree of exothermicity and possibly the strength of an accompanying gas generation. When performing such experiments, it has to be observed whether evaporation prevents a runaway of the reaction. If this turns out to be the case, a closed test system should be available for the measurement. In a closed system the evaporation would be suppressed by the rising internal pressure. [Pg.231]

The next tetramine we will discuss is the monocyclic 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (37) with an accompanying gas-phase enthalpy of formation of 18.0 3.3 kJmol . Summing the most recent value for the enthalpy of formation of its carbocyclic analog, cyclotetradecane (278 kJmol ), and 4- 5 results in a predicted value of 22 kJmol Ignoring any consequence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding and vie- and other diamine effects, we find agreement is satisfactory. [Pg.356]

In the first approach, the so-called Lockhart-Martinelly approach [10], the two-phase pressure drop 6 is correlated in terms of an enhancement of the pressure drop of the accompanying gas flow /5 plotted against a ratio of pressure losses... [Pg.751]

Differences in blast phenomena enhancement of shock wave focusing at end reflectors of various geometric shapes have not been observed in combustible mixtures. For the same shape reflectors, the main types of transition phenomena accompanying gas combustion have not been classified in a volume containing time-variable zones of temperature/pressure rise when the shock wave meets a two or three-dimensional structure. [Pg.142]

The structural changes that may accompany gas-solid reactions can be quite complex but may be classified somewhat arbitrarily into the following categories ... [Pg.53]
