Acceleration head and NPSHA

As discussed in Section II1.2.1.2, for reciprocating pump, an additional head, acceleration head (Ha, in feet), is required for NPSHA calculation. Ha is calculated by following equation. [Pg.38]

L is length of suction line, in ft v is average liquid velocity in pump suction line, in ft/sec C is a constant for different pump configurations and k is a factor related to liquid compressibility.
