AB-Crosslinked Polymers ABCPs

An ABCP contains two polymers which are grafted together in such a way as to form one monolithic network. Two subclasses may be distinguished. [Pg.95]

Since an IPN contains two polymers each in separate network form, clearly an ABCP is not an IPN. However, it constitutes an interesting close relative. Further, if either or both polymers in an ABCP are crosslinked then a grafted semi-IPN or IPN is formed. Thus the materials sometimes look, topologically, like the grafted structures discussed in Section 5.5. [Pg.96]

AB crosslinked polymers, ABCP s, and interpenetrating polymer networks, IPN s, more precise definitions of crosslinks became required. While AB crosslinked polymers are listed in Table I, graft and block copolymer bonds per se are not included because these materials remain soluble (uncrossiinked) in the simple case. [Pg.98]
