A. leucotreta sex pheromone

Treatment of (67a) with 1,6-dibromohexane gives the a-product, which is reacted with di- -propylcu-prate, resulting in formation of 7-dodecenyl bromide by Sn2 displacement at the allylic position. Conversion of this bromide into the corresponding acetate completes the synthesis of the A. leucotreta sex pheromone (Scheme 47).
