8a-Acetoxyzaluzanin

Two new guaianolides, 8a-acetoxyzaluzanin C (426) and 8a-acetoxy-zaluzanin D (427) have been isolated from the female thallus of Conocephalum conicum and sterile thallus of Wiesnerella denudata, together with the previously known zaluzanin C (424) and zaluzanin D (425) (25,40). [Pg.69]

Acetylation of (426) gave 8a-acetoxyzaluzanin D (427), indicating that (426) was 3p-hydroxy-8a-acetoxy or 3P-acetoxy-8a-hydroxy-6,12-olide (Scheme 51). The location of the hydroxyl group at C-3 was established by production of an a,p-unsaturated cyclopentenone (432) from (426) by oxidation with Cr03-Py. [Pg.71]
