5a,6,7,8,9,11 -Hexahydropyrido

Reaction of 5a,6,7,8,9,11 -hexahydropyrido[2,1 -/ ][1,3]benzothiazine-7,11 -dione (47, X = S, R = H) and 2-amino-6-fluorobenzamidine dihydrochloride in boiling EtOH yielded a diastereomeric mixture of spiro derivatives 48 (X = S, R = H), which were separated by flash column chromatography (00MIP1). 

Treatment of 9a-pentylperhydropyrido[2,I-Z>][I,3]oxazin-6-one (29) and 5a-pentyl-5a,6,7,8,9,1 l-hexahydropyrido[2,I-Z>][I,3]benzoxazin-9-one (31) with allyltrimethylsilane (3 equiv) in the presence of a Lewis acid (TiCU and HfCU) gave ring-opened allylated products 30 and 32, respectively (99SL37). In the case of tricyclic derivative 31 HfCl4 and ZnCl2 did not work.
