This recommendation is applicable for most conditions encountered in the use of this type mast. There will be exceptions where location clearance, ground conditions, or other unusual circumstances require special considerations. Figure 4-5 shows a recommended guying pattern that may be used under general conditions in the absence of an authorized API manufacturer s recommendations. Guy lines should be maintained in good condition, free from rust, corrosion, frays, and kinks. Old sand line is not recommended for guy lines.  [c.517]

The SVL programming language (scientihc vector language) is a byte-code interpretive language that can be run interactively or from an ASCII hie. The language syntax is a combination of C++ and scripting language conventions. The language includes vector arithmetic, molecular structure data types, a small amount of symbolic manipulation, pattern matching, and graphic display commands. This interpretive mode works well for molecular mechanics, but it would probably be too sluggish for ah initio calculations unless a native compiler is included in future versions. The SVL command language and the capacity to run MOE in batch mode (without the graphic interface) provide for the ability to automate tasks. All the functions accessed from menus in the GUI are running SVL program hies. This open architecture makes it easy for others to add their own functions or modify the existing routines. The platform independence access via GUI, batch, and Web and hexible customizable architecture make MOE ideal for corporate deployment accessible to all researchers.  [c.346]

A diffraction pattern of a single MWCNT (Fig. 1) contains in general two types of reflexions (i) a row of sharp oo.l (/ = even) reflexions perpendicular to the direction of the tube axis, (ii) graphite-like reflexions of the type ho.o (and hh.o) which are situated in most cases on somewhat deformed hexagons inscribed in circles with radii gho.o (or hh.o)-  [c.14]

The diffraction space of the MWCNT is thus formed by the loci generated by rotation about the tube axis, of the "features" of the local diffraction space of a volume element (Fig. 8). The resulting diffraction space consists of sharp circles in the plane through the origin perpendicular to the tube axis, described by the sharp 00./ nodes. The streaked nodes hereby generate "coronae which are limited inwards by sharp circles with radii gho.o (or 5hh.o) planes perpendicular to the tube axis and which fade gradually outwards (Fig. 8). In chiral tubes each streaked node generates a separate corona whereas in a chiral tube two mirror symmetrically related nodes generate a single corona. According to this model the diffraction pattern, which in ED is a planar section through the origin of diffraction space, has 2mm planar symmetry. This model accounts correctly for the geometrical behaviour on tilting, however taking intensities into account the 2mm symmetry is sometimes broken in experimental images. For each mast, the manufacturer shall designate a maximum rated static hook load for each of the designated line reevings to the traveling block. Each load shall be the maximum static load applied at the hook, for the designated location of deadline anchor and in the absence of any pipe-setback, sucker-rod, or wind loadings. The rated static hook load includes the weight of the traveling block and hook. The angle of mast lean and the specified minimum load guy line pattern shall be considered for guyed masts.  [c.506]
